Somewhere in Andalusia, a Moorish palace courtyard has been left to the water. The pool has crept up over the carved plaster arches, the orange trees still hang heavy with fruit at the waterline, and someone is swimming through it in the late-afternoon light as though this were always how it was meant to be seen. It is not a real place — it is what a real place looks like in a half-remembered dream of one.
